#OitO14 Let the Festival Begin!!!

WELCOME TO OUT IN THE OPEN 2014!!!!oito_transparent

We officially kicked off this morning with our all day health form @ the Gv Hotel, and plenty of us are looking forward to tonight’s opening movie GBF and then some side splitting comedy from Jonathan Duffy and Gavin Roach @ the Aussie Hotel. With all the excitement for CARNIVAL DAY @ the Queens Gardens tomorrow!!!  After grabbing some Thai and trivia that evening, its time to frock up and dance the night away at the Glamour party @ the Aussie Hotel.

Sunday morning brings some much needed ‘morning after’ brunch @ The Lemon Tree Cafe and then a short stroll though the CBD back to the Queens Gardens for the Equal Love rally and Mid Spring Vows with an Australian Marriage Equality BBQ to wrap up the amazing weekend.

We look forward to seeing all the pics, make sure you #OitO14  Enjoy!!!

JOIN US ON AUSTRALIA’S FIRST LGBTI TRAIN

“Be part of History on board Australia’s first ever LGBTI Train departing Melbourne on the morning of Saturday 15th November.

“Our private Heritage Train will hit the tracks powering towards the Goulburn Valley festival, OUTintheOPEN.

“Leaving Southern Cross Station at 7.30am (we know its early) we celebrate our achievement of being Australia’s First Exclusive LGBTI Train with a Champagne breakfast as the suburbs of Melbourne flash by. Enjoy the DJ in the Dance club or a quiet chat in Club Lounge 708.
The food will flow and a party atmosphere will fill the carriages. As the Rainbow Flags flutter on the Locomotives and carriages, listen out for the whistle as the drivers announce our arrival in each town as we slow down to make our presence known.
Grab a seat by a window and wave to our LGBTI Country Family as they come out to support our journey.”

What’s OUTintheOPEN?

Posted by: | Posted on: June 2, 2013

OUTintheOPEN Festival (LGBTI health/well-being forum + Carnival Day + More | 14-16 Nov 2014)

OUTintheOPEN Festival Shepparton

OUTintheOPEN is Shepparton’s newest festival celebrating community diversity.

OUTintheOPEN was developed to address some of the inequalities faced by the local gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer (GLBTIQ) & allied communities and to build a more inclusive community in Greater Shepparton.

OUTintheOPEN is a project led by Kildonan UnitingCare and is proudly supported by many other organisations and community groups, including:
• The Bridge Youth Service
• Goulburn Valley Pride Inc.
• PFLAG (Parents, Family members & Friends of Lesbian & Gay people) Greater Shepparton
• Diversity Group (same-sex attracted & sex/gender diverse young person’s social-support group)
• Goulburn Valley Health
• Centre for Excellence in Rural Sexual Health (CERSH)
• Relationships Australia Victoria
• Goulburn Valley Primary Care Partnership
• Greater Shepparton City Council
• Goulburn North East Women’s Health
• Goulburn Valley Hotel
• Victoria Police

The festival will consist of a health/well-being forum at Goulburn Valley Hotel function rooms and a Carnival day on the third weekend in November at the Victoria Park Lake.  Other events will occur during the weekend across the City of Greater Shepparton.

For more info contact Damien on 0437 134 625 or enquiries@outintheopen.org.au &/or follow us on Facebook.
